Artificial lights disrupt the ecosystem and drastically affect nocturnal animals by making their waking hours seem more like day than night. The introduction of artificial lights is actually the way that we as humans have affected their environments the most. Predators use the light to hunt, and prey uses the dark to hide, so light pollution greatly affects the populations of prey. If any of these species that are affected get wiped out, that could eventually completely wipe out ecosystems.
